Well as most of you know our gooberment is so awesome that it will more than most likely be shutting down. That really bites because now I wont be getting paid until they pass a budget. I just looked at my LES for next week and they have already kept half my pay. So lets see here, half a check, wont get paid again until a budget is passed and oh yea, I still have to go to work. This is no good, don't they know this is "workin on truck season". Now I have to wait until all of this is done before I can continue working on my truck darn-it...

 

And oh yeah, by the way, I've read a few stories today that say obama and congress are gonna continue to get paid through this. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Doesn't it?

I will most likely be on this gov mandated vacation too. all of my flights this weekend are cancelled so far.

 

i havent heard LES for 15 years. thats a blast from the past. i think i know how to speed congress up. station them in a combat zone until they figure out how to pass a budget on time and get our fighting men and women paid. AIRBORNE AIR ASSAULT!!!

I'm really sorry for you guys. This shouldn't be happening in the USA. I wish someone would stop there checks. Here i am getting ready to take a road trip for the first time in my life and all the places i want to go see may be closed.

I was actually looking forward to having the time off to do some work on my truck.

I just heard on Anderson Cooper 360 that they passed a short term budget to last until next Thursday, the 14th.

 

Let non essentials shut down. Will combat personnel get paid? yes. Will Alcatraz island stay open for lookey-loos? NO.
Im already a layed off government worker, it doesnt make me believe any different. Rely on private business and your own success in the private sector, not the government (tax payers) for your every need. The gravy train loaded with gubment cheese is coming to a hault. The situation is grim, but im gonna suck it up and go back to college, not expecting a handout or great job with great benefits without working my *** off for it.

I'm National Guard but I'm on active duty orders (Federal Funding) working and working at the Illinois Military Academy so I'm not non-essential per say. We teach classes to MOS qualify Soldiers that are re-classing, we do everything from ABIC to MP training. In the 3 years Ive been doing this, this is the worst I've seen it get. I think that these guys need to have their pay checks stopped and be held 1 week for everyday that they go past a deadline, that way next time it wont take 6 weeks to get something done. If they did that, it would be 42 weeks before they got a paycheck and I bet they would get their buts in gear for the next time, oh wait its almost here...lol

 

Nope, they sent out emails to everyone saying we would get 1 weeks pay and that would be our last paycheck untill they passed a budget. We would get backpaid but that wouldn't happen untill the budget was passed...

My sister is in Iraq, she is getting paid as fr as ive heard.

The thing is they can do what they want. If they decide to not pay active duty combat personnel that shows very bady for the decision making of the Obama administration.
