My sister is in Iraq, she is getting paid as fr as ive heard.

The thing is they can do what they want. If they decide to not pay active duty combat personnel that shows very bady for the decision making of the Obama administration.
Im Active but not in combat but this was for all Military. They took half of your pay on your check for the 15th and were told we wouldn't get paid again until they passed the budget. We just found out today that they did that so have your sis go check her LES so she doesn't get a suprise, it will show up on her LES as a debt and with the way the Military is the news might not have made it that far yet about the pay. The sad part is at the begining of the week they tried to pass a week long extension with funding for the Defense Dept for the rest of the year and Obama said he would Veto it. Makes me glad I didn't vote for him now...lol

Unless the American public realizes that the politicians are buying votes with our own money we are in for a world of hurt.
At least those of us on the forum are in a better situation than a majority of the country. If we are willing to tear apart and rebuild our trucks for fun, we will be willing to work hard at whatever task that will get us through these rough times that are coming.

My wife's business is commission only. We normally get a large tax refund which I have done as a security measure in case her business takes off. I'm now going to change that and keep that money in my pocket. I wouldn't be surprised if tax refunds don't get paid out before too many years.

In the big picture, the American people have no one to blame but themselves for the mess we're in. We keep electing the same people over and over again, sometimes for 40 years or more, giving the politicians the power they need to control our lives, spend our money foolishly, without thought for the future, and generally make a mess of things. Until people wake up and realise the brainwashing that's occured over the past 50 years that the government can best care for everything isn't realistic, we won't see anything change. We must put personal responsibility back into our daily lives, and teach our children to be more self supporting. It will be generations before this mess is cleaned up, and it's the responsibility of our generation to teach them what we did wrong, and how to fix it.

It wouldn't hurt to enact term limits, either.

Amen, brother.
Careful though, that kind of talk is probably illegal in some states.

Interesting Ebay Seller

This man posted these thought-provoking words in his shipping info in an auction I just happened on.Hmmmmmmm.........

""Refuse to be Governed by Lesser men" -TJ Marz. Shipping, well nobody ships items this cheap. period. Item will be shipped in the USA for $5 Priority. Additional will be required for shipping outside the USA. Full time ebay selling for 12 years and that postage charge has never gone up in that time. Unlike the Government, I know how to balance my checkbook and my soul has never been for sale"
