Making war is One Thing.......How will....
Yes, The American's,British,Australian's,numerous other countries ,The Red Cross and numerous other agencies will be there to help.
What do you think the plan is and how will it be handled to
Create a Peaceful Iraq with its people ?
I have a feeling the area will need monitoring for YEARS after.
Please......No High-Jacking the thread..try and stay on topic.
I'm asking about, the people of this country and other middle Eastern countries<> The US & other countries and their occupation.
I'm talking physically,psychologically,socially ......
They can't just walk in & destroy *what they do* and head out leaving everything up to the agencies to try help form a democracy.
This is going to be time consuming.
If there was rally going on somewhere <>
Not everybody feels the same, you don't want everyone to act or feel like a sheep yet youare trying to convince them this is what should happen now.
First being dictated to by Saddam and now other people trying to get the people to think their way.
Japan was probably more of a challenge because the people were isolated from the rest of the world, while through modern communications, the Iraqis have a better understanding of how the world works.
You will be surprised what a little freedom, and free enterprise will do for Iraq.
They are educated people, with natural resorces.
Look up some articles by some free-Iraqi's in the USA, and see how they feel about a Post-Saddam Iraq.
I listened to a woman on the radio in Omaha, who's family had to flee Saddam. They were wealthy business people who fell out of favor. It was a compelling story of brutality, and survival, and they have every intention of returning to a free Iraq.
I think too many in the world think that the USA wants to run Iraq, but I am confidant that it can become a model for the whole region.

As far as freedom and free enterprise being able to bring about change, look at Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Not a pretty picture. When people are so totally dominated by their government for so long, it takes a long time for them to change.

Wizard your reply is very close to what I'm leaning to.

I think that the Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites will get along fine if they can work together and compromise a little with each other. Perhaps they will develop an effective model for other fragmented countries to follow, and it will lead more people in the Arab world to change their own countries for the better when they see that Iraq can do it.
Allah willing....

I wonder if the Iraqi people are seeing this ?
I expected to see more feedback on this subject about Making Peace after the war.
with our freedom that we will give them they will be allowed to do what they want
1 pratice there religon
2 breed hate against us even though we may remove the "devil" himself
3 look at Germany there is still Hitler followers there
we won't be able go over there and say speak american we are great we saved you now pay us respect build nice houses wifes uncover your head .
these poeple like us has a heritage and rituals just like americains candians and all the others we can't just expect to kick hussain butt and the whole Irque country turn into the next
51st state mmmmm what would we call Texas2 or the "busch" state
it will take a long time lot of work because some Irques think and know this way as the "way of life" or the "way it has to be"
Edit: Upon re-reading the initial post, I would also offer another point. The main problem at hand during the rebuilding process will be the lack of unity within the people themselves. Several factions exist, each with its own followers, its own agenda, and its on loyalties. Part of the problem will be to determine the method of having one leading party that all the different factions can support. Otherwise, a great deal of political & social instability inherently accompanies a leader not supported by the majority of his people. My two cents? Let the filthy Muslims kill each other over this issue. Last one alive gets their way.

Thank you,
You captured the essence of my question.
These are the things I considered when I typed this.
Wait until the manure hits the fan about France being awarded lucrative Cell Phone contracts for Iraq at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer's.
I've also been watching where some Iraqi's that left a long time ago are going back to fight the US for the sake of Iraq.
This was organized by saddam's son.
Don't under estimate the Iraqi people. All of the ones I have seen or heard interviewed, other than the saddam crowd, seem to be pretty clear headed about life after saddam.
.
I agree with 1inaMill, it's gonna be far more difficult than the war itself. Bombs do, after all, speak louder than words..
I find this controversary most fascinating.
Now is seems that Germany,France,Canada, all WANT to be part of putting Iraq in order.
Canada was always ready for contributing Aid in Iraq.
Cheteien was just too worried about the Election In Quebec to say he agreed with sending troops to Iraq.
I wish we (the "willing") could monopolize on the rebuilding in order to recoup financial losses of freeing the people of Iraq. Unfortunately, the rest of the international community (read: Europe) would only label the US a bully, cry "UNFAIR" at the top of their lungs, and wonder why they can't reap the rewards of our hard work and sacrifice.
"Hey Joe, that woman is being abused & pummeled by that big guy! Let's not confront him -- perhaps we can talk him out of it by standing here in a safe position and pleading him to stop. What do you mean you're going to confront him? Don't do that -- he only beat her half to death so far -- let's try begging him some more! Well, if you're going to try stopping him, after he hits you with his fists (did I mention I gave him some brass knuckles), stabs you with his knife (oops, I gave him that, too), and shoots you with his gun (aw geez, I guess I sold that to him too), I'll be waiting for things to cool down so I can hit on the chick... Don't worry; I'll call an ambulance for you in case you get hurt. By the way, can you let me hold on to your cell phone? I don't want to rack up the minutes on mine."
International politics -- what a pain!
