if I were him, I'd pull the glow plug on that cylinder, drive it home with no radiator cap.
Unfortunately the injector will still feed fuel and with the engine heat small amount of compression could cause the cylinder to fire. With the fuel under the hood and a firing cylinder it could cause a major fire.
He would be wise to get an engine lift to get the head off, it is way too much for 1 guy and a chore for 2 ....too man handle it.
Good idea, i dont like the fact that anyone could see all that info either.
I'm no computer wizard, so I don't even know if that is possible...but it sounds good at least lol
I hesitated for the longest time about adding my info to the Members Map, due to being so public. I ended up giving a first name and my town and said if anyone needs help, PM me for a phone number. I already traded info with Dodge/Cummins for my trip out to Oregen next summer.
ahh now i understand the other thread about the gas comment.
ahh well.an easy mistake im sure many diesel owners have made.
i haven't done this one........yet.
as for the new ip causing the engine to run like a dog,it's probably just because its improperly timed still.
iv played with my meter enough now,to know that just a couple degree's makes all the difference in the world.it really does.
when its right,it just pulls sooooooo much harder.timing just 3 degree's (you better have a dang good idi timing ear,i can't hardly tell the difference) can make the truck feel like going from 3.08's to 4.10's.its its that drastic.
when your close, she'll really rattle.until i got the meter,i didn't know these engines where supposed to be so loud.
did you get a turbo specific pump?
do you not feel that you might have damaged injectors now?
no im not.id like to.but wrong time of year and too far.work is starting to pick up and fuel to drive there and back would be a killer.
Mel times for free at those though!
I'll be down in PA at a family reunion 1 hour north of the Rally. I don't think I'll be able to skip out of the reunion on Saturday, but I'll be at the Rally for a few hours each day. Dang, it's too bad the reunion fell on the same weekend.
I don't know about an official list, but you'll have to go over to OB and tell everybody you'll be attending in one of the IDI weekend threads.
I'm pumped!
