Oh, are you speaking of the brake pedal position switch? As identified in this thread (linked) in post #6? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ch-bypass.html

You want to check the "Speed Control Deactivator Switch" that is installed on the end of the brake master cylinder under the hood on the driver side. If you disconnect the wire and the connector is wet with brake fluid, it's definitely bad. It's about 20 bucks and a simple job to replace, so I'd change it either way. I did not have to bleed the brakes after changing mine.

Here's a silly question - when I get that switch out should I be ready to immediately put in the new one (IE - will brake fluid immediately gush out)?

::sigh:: well it wasn't the speed control deactivator switch. Next best bet is the servo? ~$400 from a dealer or ~$75 from a junkyard? UGH. Welp guess cruise control isn't getting fixed. Eh guess there are worse things in life.

You could also try the brake light switch on the brake pedal, but if that was bad you probably would not have brake lights either.

I haven't run into this problem with a truck but, on my Mark VIII, if the 3rd brake light was inoperative the cruise control would not work. Only 1 bad bulb would cause this. That does not explain the horn problem though.

Ah, ok. I'll look into these things. Anyone know the part number of the servo by chance? I'm going to check to see what I can get it from Tousley for.

Dlaude, just have them run your vin, and they should be able to tell u also if the recall was ever done on it over the ph. I found out the hard way when I needed to change mine that they are different for the different engine config. Go figure.

Welp, all brakes lights are working properly. Guess it's time to do this to see what comes of it...
