Another rear end lowering post

I have read on here lots of ideas on lowering the rear ends of these trucks as well as I have lowered, bagged and hydroed my trucks in the past but by no means am I anything close to a professional. Just a guy who had worked by the shade of his tree. OK, my idea was this, what if, or is it possible to use leaf springs from another truck? Maybe a lighter duty truck. Or maybe a truck that has the spring perch higher in the spring arch which in turn would make the leaf spring flatter. I know it is possible to remove a leaf but by doing so you are not sure how much drop you will get due to the condition of the spring being unknown (ever seen a bed that looks like it is leaning?). My only concern in this idea is that the length from eyelet to eyelet on our leafs must match the new...obviously right! But how would we know if the other trucks leafs would have that same measurement?

Anyway, any one have any idea on this. Do you think it is possible? Do you know someone who has done it?

Hmmm... why bother? Just flip the forward spring bracket and you'll drop the truck 6 inches and not lose any carrying capacity. Just need angle shims (6 degrees usually) to fix the driveline angle.

Just do a search on Fordification for full hangar or half-hangar flip.

I mentioned searching another Ford Truck forum as not too many here have done the modification.

Examples of a half and full hangar flip.
