I read that it was a issue for a short time due to the earthquake in Japan but the issue has now been resolved. Just what I read on here though, no proof.

I picked up a paint stick in tuxedo black today and asked about this issue. Parts guy said the buzz is that there will be no more "tuxedo black" or "vermillion red" vehicles made this model year. They expect to have a new source soon for a different black and red if they don't already. Probably be called something else. You can still get black and red trucks, no problem.

I have the tuxedo black as well. I've only had the truck 5 days but I'm not convinced yet that I like the colour. I thought I ordered black, like my 2009. We have a few black trucks in the fleet at work, this one looks like the rest, until the sun shines!
I dunno, I guess the multi-coloured metallic paint is a bit too old school for me. JMHO

Old school? This is not really a metallic paint. Its glass in the paint not metal. The colors you are seeing is a result of the prism effect. I was not sure I liked the multi color at first either. But I am glad I did. When this truck is cleaned up and the sun is out it looks GOOD. I get a TON of compliments on it. More than any other truck I have had.

I've got the 'metallic' flecks in my copper colored 2006 and love it. It's about time they did it with black!
One other benefit is that it really helps to hide small scratches and touch up spots.

I love Tuxedo Black!
Now I have Limited Edition paint, Limited Edition seats and a Limited Edition diff cover.
(I have since added a Weatherguard 117-0-2 saddle box. I love Black and chrome stuff!)
