yeah, perferably, that would be ideal, but everyone who can afford to live outside of town here already does. The outskirts of town are highly sought after, and seem to be very expensive. This won't be our last house, I am sure of that, but at least we can live here long enough to find out what we like about it, and what we don't, then look for the right qualities in our next house. I would suspicion we might only be at the next house about 6 or so years, then move to something else. In about 6 years, Julie can quit the daycare, and Sophia will start going to school, so she can start to bring in a better income, and we can maybe get a nicer house.
Well, we live a little farther out of town than the outskirts. And we found the houses to be a little cheaper where we are at, at least they were when we moved here. We actually lived in a trailer park down the street and around the corner from where we are now, before we moved here about 25 years ago. It needed work when we moved in, but we figured we could do it over time. And the price was decent (what we could afford at the time). We have never really wanted a house payment more than we could afford with just one of us working. So, until we find a better deal, we will stay right here. Besides, we almost have it completely remodeled (and paid off).
Yeah, we can't move very far, due to Julie runs a daycare out of our house, and she doesn't want to lose her clients. But I dream of living 3 to 10 miles out in the country.

I'm in the exact same boat as you now, daycare is a real good job but it does have it's living limitations
Good Evening, yeah I kinda remember the cold, I got home at 3am this morning from running service calls, and the last three were outside. My alarm clock going off at 6:15 this morning to go back to work was even more annoying than anticipated.
Night everyone, looks like I'll be taking tomorrow off against my will. Water starting backing up into the basement from the sewer overflow when the washing machine was running a couple days ago, and now it backed up again when Jamie drained the bathtub. From what I've read we either have a clog or tree roots going through the drain pipe in the yard. Hopefully I can get a hold of a good plumber to take care of this tomorrow, yay for a bad start to a new week :/

24 hour 7 day a week Roto Rooter places down this way. Happened to us last november. I have my tolet bubble to let me know when it gets really slow. I have a clean out out back and leave it loose and covered so it don't back up in the house. Other places I have lived the guy digs a hole in the yard same place everytime and has the top og the sewer line broken out. I live in old houses with ceramic lines. There is a piece tin that covers the broken top and they put a bit of ready mix on top of that. You can rent the machines and do it your self. But it don't cost a lot. Most times you can get someone to do the work for $100 or under. Told me last november I should have them out every year to prevent the emergency stuff. Or maybe pick a nice day in the fall to rent a machine and do it myself.

Yup, that is what was happening with us. Jamie was yelling that the toilet was bubbling and I realized that the washer was dumping into the drain at the same time. Didn't take me long to figure out that it was dumping out in the basement. Luckily we have a PVC clean out in the backyard, but when I pulled the cap up a little it was pretty pressurized so I left it alone. We put off bringing anyone out since it started acting up late Friday night and we didn't want to pay weekend\after hour rates. Hoping to find someone that will do it for under $200 since that is what the going rate seems to be. I don't think I can get it done around $100 like you did but I sure hope so! I'll plan on having it done yearly now, been lucky so far since we've lived in the house 2 1/2 years without drain issues up until now
