Yup, that is what was happening with us. Jamie was yelling that the toilet was bubbling and I realized that the washer was dumping into the drain at the same time. Didn't take me long to figure out that it was dumping out in the basement. Luckily we have a PVC clean out in the backyard, but when I pulled the cap up a little it was pretty pressurized so I left it alone. We put off bringing anyone out since it started acting up late Friday night and we didn't want to pay weekend\after hour rates. Hoping to find someone that will do it for under $200 since that is what the going rate seems to be. I don't think I can get it done around $100 like you did but I sure hope so! I'll plan on having it done yearly now, been lucky so far since we've lived in the house 2 1/2 years without drain issues up until now
If ya leave it alone for a while you might try to loosen it again. For sure leave it loose after ya have it cleaned.
Mine happened on the weekend too. But with the cap on the clean out loose we were able to get by and no back ups. Not even outside. Just some paper in the riser. Took till wednesday to get someone out. Ours is tree roots and the only tree we have now is out front.
