OT 89 Camry trans
I've searched the net and cant find what I'm looking for, maybe one of the trans experts will know. My gf's 89 camry has been leaking atf for a while, but the level on the dipstick hasnt dropped. Now it has a grinding/scraping noise when accelerating from a stop and turning. I suspect the differential has a seperate reservoir from the auto transmission and has run low and damaged the differential. I've seen a few cars with a seperate fill plugs but cant find anything on the camry. Anyone know???????

Man I hate to tell ya but that trans will have some damage to the differential.
Assuming you have a 4 cyl car, your trans should be the Toyota A140E, and yes it does have a separate compartment for the diff with its own oil.
Fill plug on the end cover for the diff section.

thanks for the input, the door sticker says A540e. I'll try to get it up on the ramps and look for a plug. I'm thinking some 90weight will quiet it down, but she's gonna be afraid to drive it.
