Considering a 2005 Ford Expedition
Hi Community:
My sedan (Toyota Camry) gulped its last gallon of gas yesterday, after a 230k mile life.
Today, I'm looking to replace it immediately! I've stumbled across a dealer-sold 2005 Expedition with the following specs:
The truck looks great and I do mean PRISTINE. There's heavy dirt along the bottom of the chassis which suggests off-roading, but looks to be in fantastic condition outside of that. I have not heard the SUV run yet, and from reading the many, many threads posted to this forum, I know that engine life is all about regular maintenance.
But most of those threads were pretty dated, and I wanted to know if any of you could shed some light on the life of the engine, what expectations I should have, recommended synthetics, etc.
Also, I do intend to take the Expedition to my mechanic for inspection.

- Automatic Trans.
- 221,000 miles
