Well long story short, I was going with a 10" sub, but then decided to go with a 12" sub AFTER I ordered the amp, which is this amp: Kenwood - KAC-8105D. If I go with this amp and the 2ohm version of this sub: TS-SW3001S2|S4 - 12" Shallow Mount Subwoofer with 1500 Watts Max. Power | Pioneer Electronics USA, will the system sound good? I'm only using 1 sub, and no I'm not trying to create a fault line every time I turn the radio up. I just recently got a pretty basic JVC headunit to be able to play my iPhone in my truck (eventually going to upgrade to a Kenwood dvd/nav system), and I just started getting tired of having absolutely no bass at all, and when you try and turn it up it just gets crackly and distorted. I'm on a budget, but at the same time I do want something quality (so by budget, I just mean I'll have to do all my shopping on ebay). I definitely don't want to go with Walmart brand crap. So if this system sounds like it will be alright then I won't worry about it anymore, but if anybody has any better ideas for a 12" sub for this amp then let me know. And yes, it does have to be a shallow mount sub. Thanks in advance.
Will it "wound" good? That depends on more than just your equipment. The sub needs a proper enclosure and your radio and amp need to be set properly. Get the bass filtered out of your door speakers and they will sound much better. 80hz and up, if your radio has a crossover built in. Let the sub handle the bass.

Hahaha I didn't even notice that obviously. I guess I was just tired and trying to type a little too fast at the same time. And this damn site won't let you correct it either! Oh well. I guess I'll have to look into all that crossover stuff and what not. I've still got the book so I'm sure it's in there. I'm not really too big into car stereo stuff simply because I've never been into the stereotypical music that's normally associated with car systems. But I've started picking up stuff here and there and from what I can tell it's definitely not rocket science...thank god.

I hope you're not paying $220 for that sub. Check out Sonic Electronix for both of your items.
NO NO NO, that's why I said all my shopping will be done on ebay...their prices are about the same as Sonic Electronix. But the reason I was going with the 2ohm sub is because most of the SVC subs I've looked at have been 350 watt RMS or above, and at 4ohms that amp only puts out 300RMS, which from what I've read and heard through the grape vine will sound very distorted. However, if I can drop the amp load down to 2ohms then it can supply 500 watts RMS. On that note, I can also go with a 4ohm DVC sub, which means that for the same price as that Pioneer, I could also have the Rockford Fosgate shallow 12" sub. Which would I be better off going with? From what I've read, a lot of people prefer the name and quality of RF over Pioneer, and I've also heard that DVC has better sound quality (not really sure how or why) than a SVC sub.
Again, any information I give you about this stuff is not my personal knowledge, it's just what I've seen as the majority opinion from the extensive research I've been doing from home. So if you see something that sounds totally off the wall or completely stupid, please don't treat me like the dumb-***. Blame Google
