Block heater plug location?

My block heater plug was relocated by a previous owner to hang over the front driver side leaf spring. I don't like this location because it catches a lot of mud and road debris. I would like to relocate it back to the stock location. Where is it normally located? Pictures would be great.

Thanks in advance, guys.

Mine comes out through the grille, I'm pretty sure that's the OEM location.

How is it secured there and how is it routed? That's what I thought, and I plan to return it to that position.

Stock is where you want it to end up. From the factory is was tie wrapped between the drivers side headlight and drivers side battery. Had a heck of a time even finding it. I just dropped it straight down enough for easy access just behind the front bumper and re-tie wrapped it.

You can see it hanging to the right of the license plate and slightly below the bumper in this photo ...

Yet another area where that Factory Service CD is wrong...

Most are accessible thru the grille or the air slot in the bumper...everyone I've seen has been in need a a few ty-wraps, too.

So it varies? I'll just look for a good spot for it, then. Probably through the grille or somewhere around the bumper. I'll install the plug thing in the bumper when I get time and resources to do it.

you can run it wherever you want, just depends on where the PO put it.

I put mine, as shown above, to help keep the plug dry when the truck is sitting and especially when using the block heater when it's raining. But, to each his own ...
