I have a '62 F100 4WD, and am buying a new floor mat. Vendors list options for either a tall (8") or a short (5") transmission hump, and most of the vendors say that all 4WDs have the tall hump.
I measured from a spot about half-way between the firewall and the bench seat, and in-between the manual and 4WD stickshifts - it was just under 5", so different from what LMC/NPD etc., write.
Anyone have any thoughts? Am I measuring from the wrong spot, and should I just go with the 8"
Jay;
Welcome aboard; I've ask Number Dummy this same question with even adding if the vehciles vin data was a way to help determine this height; he told me that its bascially a guessing game to determine (Obsolute part) all remanufacture or if you come across OEM part prolly be crack from being in a box rolled & folded up. Its even harder to determine especially with vendors telling you that 4x4 are large hump; and you measure roughly for the description of a small hump cover. Hopefully someone has experience this issue and will chime in.
I was told I don't remember by who that the 5" hump is a 3 speed, IE no hole is the floor model, and the 8" was for the 4 speeds. I don't remember who, told me this, but i have a 3 speed and I ordered the 5" hump version and it fits perfect. I bought mine from Carolina Classics. (Only because I know saying mine fits begs the question where did I get it.)
