'66 High hump ? Low hump?

I want to order a floor mat for my F100 3 on the tree. The hump is about 5 " tall. It's the same as the hump in my '64 with a 4 speed. Is it a high or low hump?
Thanks. john

John I believe that would be a low hump. The high hump would be the floor shift that does indeed have a higher hump.

John: John is correct, the hump in the picture would be considered a 'low hump'. My 65 with the 3 speed on the column is a 'low hump' floor pan. My 65 with the T18 4speed on the floor is considered a 'high hump' floor pan.

I selected the carpet color but before installing went to an upholstery shop for estimate and found they went thru the same supplier and able to get it for less, they applied their discount to their installation. I prepped by laying down insulation and basically all the upholstery shop did was apply a coat of contact cement, sections at a time, and lay down the carpet, fit like a globe. The shop was also able to apply their discount thru same supplier for the upholstery.

I don't think there is a high hump or low hump floor. The "high hump" is created by cutting the floor and adding the sheetmetal trans cover. Yes?

Thanks for the replies. The humps have me a little confused unless they really changed things from '64 to '65. My '64 f250 has the 4 speed floor shift. The hump is bolted on and is the same height as the welded hump seen in the picture. I have seen floor mats and carpets listed for 2wd auto trans or high hump floor shift/4wd. I assume that the 2wd auto trans mats would work for 2wd column shift 3spd but maybe that is a bad assumption.

Believe the difference is possibly with the type tranny, my 65 with the T18, seem to recall the shifter housing sets slightly above standard floor pan and it came with the original 'high hump' cover. My other 65, with the 3 on the column, appears same as the floor pan in the picture with no attached cover.

Not a good pic, and difficult to determine with the carpet installed, is a pic of the 65 with the T18.

Your assumption is correct John. The hump would be the same with 3-spd or Cruiso except the auto truck requires that small rectangle to be cut out for access to the band adjuster.

i have a mat that goes across a hump that you can have. it's black rubber. Not new, but free for the cost of shipping. i put in a shifter and it doesn't work for me now. i'd hate to throw it out. it's in pretty good shape. let me know and i can measure it for you, and take a picture.

Steve, Thanks for the generous offer. I can definitly put the mat to good use. Both my '66 and '64 need mats. The '66 doesn't have one and the '64 has a partial one that I can't even use far a pattern. Let me know how much and where to send it.

I removed the factory carpets and foam padding in my truck this past weekend and saw that area was cutout on mine but not on John's truck and wondered what they were accessing on the tranny. The little rectangle plate that covers the hole is form fitted. And mine was under the foam and carpet so must have been something they did at the factory. Good info....

Hey guys I am in a corner here.... I have a F350 1964 2x4.... it is an automatic so technically a column shift... is this a big hump or a small hump. For 350's they only list high hump with manual trans, but I have an automatic which I am sure isn't very common.

I am looking at the MIP Vinyl floors
Truck Parts and Truck Accessories

I think 49-5906 is the one I need but not sure.

Thanks for any help.

I'll say that any slick that has had the floor cut and a trans cover installed is a "high hump" but I've never seen your combination before, Cory.

Thats what I thought but the "hump" on the OPs post, doesnt look much higher than mine and John called that a low hump

Mine was a "low hump" 3 on the tree, like John's in post #1, until I cut the floor, added a 4-spd and a cover and made it a "high hump". So I'll be buying a carpet for a "high hump".

Hmmm... well let me know how the high hump road goes for you. I also wonder if there is a difference in humps between the 61-64 and the 65-66 truck cabs,.
