Ok soon it will be very obvious that I am new to this but here gos. I have ventured into a new project...ford 302, np435 connected to a dana 300. I have the motor(out of a 80s f150), I got the tranny from a late 70s f150 with the bellhousing(4x4) so...I thought the bellhousing would fit tha motor, but it doesnt. I dont know what motor was in the truck that the tranny cam out of, though I wouldnt think it was a big block? All the hole just seem to be futher apart. can some one help me??
The NP435 should bolt to your original 302 bell housing. Dana 300 means nothing. A Bronco would have a Dana 30 or 44 front end, but the transfer case would be a Dana 20 stock. I'm doing that conversion right now so ask away.
Quick google search comes up 80-86 Jeep, passenger side drop. Think he's got the wrong tranny/transfer case. Could be a good reason why bell housing doesn't fit.

the dana 300 is a jeep transfer case . it is much stronger than the jeep 18 or 20 and much lighter than the 205 or 208. The adapter is quite costly but in the long run its what I want. Though it has nothing to do with this bell housing.I would imagian that ford has some bells that are bigger and thats probably what im looking at. Ill call the guy I got it from to find out more imfo, thanks for the reply
It'a ALL bout application - whadda U want it 4?
anything fits anything - @ big Advance Adapter (or other) expense. if it's what U want U can go w/it. not MY style tho. keep the orig ford's dana w/np435 n THAT ii'll fit that motor n oem transfer (as gfw sez)...
/OR/
the 208 (or IS it 205?) is the best in strength n durability!!! Yeah, 208 i think. Nouice w/the NP tranny!
check out the cb dot com site for tips on compatability of transfers w/that transmission. np (C above) will bolt right up tho.
If I read right, it's a passenger side drop for the front driveshaft. How are you going to handle that? I don't know Jeep parts so I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.
Yes your right the dana 300 drops on the passenger side.I have dana 60s front and rear made for a jeep and really want to use them so the 300 will work perfect
can some one help me
possibly - ask a specific question
BTW - welcome to the forum and site (guess 6 posts is not tooo late to offer that, too early 4 pic tho - 25 needed?). hope U enjoy your stay, lotta good guys here, saved me lotta $ & time!
I found out through alot of research this bellhouseing was bolted to a 351m, which is the sam as a 400, 429, or a 460cid. thus the reason it wont bolt to the 302

HiYa!
Good 2 C ya again! I have my notifications set to let me know when you add to yer thread here...
Real good to see you've been researchin. Very highly recommended before buying (unless yer what I would call rich - I'm unemployed) or desiginin a new project. I think I'll never be done that aspect of automotive endevors...
U must B more familure with the dodge products (there;s some cross over, not alot tho). I think dodge n chebby speak of small block/big block. Ford has families...anyway the motors you mention above, in a group, are not of the same family (big block/sm block were mixed in your quote above). the 400 is a 351 enlargened so to speak. the others are of a different family. the I6: 250, 300; the302, one of the 351s will all take the same bell/transmission due to that bolt pattern sometimes called a SBF. the others will not take the same 1. I am not a mechanic only wrk on my own (about 25 vehicles over 40 yrs) so am not an ex spirt (a has been,, water under pressure) but am fairly certian of what I've just written. May B an exspirt will come along W/ better info.
Possably ask a direct Q and get some direct answers (All the hole just seem to be futher apart. can some one help me??) Not sure what this means. I'm guessing that U wanna put a D60 under an EB frnt and rear. My suggestion, if that is true, is to use all ford products. the mechanical fab headaches will B reduced (or all dodge).

Correct. All four motors had the same bell housing bold pattern... Except the ones bolted up to an FMX tranny.
