There was a fatal accident in MoundHouse last Friday that killed 3 people.

& their father - 30 y/o

Wow, That is sad news. When I read the article what jumped out was Bill Richards. I know him. He & I have some mutual friends. I knew him before he became a Deputy Sheriff. He is nice guy. Donna do you know him. If so & you see him tell him hello for me. I was living in Hawthorne when we use to cross paths. We were both working construction. Both worked for Kingsbury Tile out of Carson City at different times.

I don't know if I know him or not. I know most of the cops from working on scenes with them (mainly Lyon County, but some from Carson City) Carson Deputy Wayne Wheeler hosted the car show & the turn out was amazing! Alot of people showing thier cars, lots of spectators, & alot of people driving through just to drop off donations for the family. What a great way to show support to our community and to help others in need.
I just went to the nevada appeal site and used their search function. It came right up. This tragedy had gotten a lot of press.
I really feel for the mother of those kids. She will never be the same. My wife lost a son, right after we met. It's about the worst thing that can happen to a parent, imagine losing two!!
I couldn't go to the Sonic fundraiser, but I found this:
• Cash donations can be made to help with funeral and medical expenses to the Alexis and Colton Melendrz Fund Account No. 2000008744 at any Heritage Bank Branch.
• Cash donations can be made to help with funeral and medical expenses to the Alexis and Colton Melendrez Fund Account No. 2000008744 at any Heritage Bank Branch.
Thanks for finding that info. Bruce!
If anyone is able to help out the family, it's greatly appreciated!
Another event...
A car wash to help with funerals & medical bills for David (father), Alexis (8y/o), Colton (3y/o) will be help May 7th at the Nevada State Prison on 5th Street in Carson City at 11am. Cost is $5 & up.
That's a Thursday, I'll see if I can bring at least one of my dirty vehicles down for that.
You sound like me...."one of my dirty vehicles"
We just washed Olfthfl & McNasty for yesterdays benefit car show, but I'm sure I can bring my daughters Neon, Jimmy's dually, or my 4Runner. Than again, if you haven't seen Olfthfl before the car wash, maybe I'll bring her down & have her washed again!
Maybe a good ol' fashioned hand washing will shine the paint - Nah, way to oxidized!
Hey Olfthfl, cool truck! I've always had a soft spot for the early bump sides. I have a couple at the yard, so if you need anything, please let me know. One has a fair amount of the trim inside, and some of the emblems. I'm trying to keep as many of these old trucks alive as I can!
Hey rocket if you happen to see the brushed aluminum racetrack trim without the rubber insert from a 73-75 ford i need a few peices. On my restoration on my 75 i used the insert stuff caus i couldnt find the peices i needed since its not made anymore.
I imagine the yards down in vegas have a higher turn over of stock then the northern nevada yards. I like to hit the yards outside sacramento but i cant stand california. so its painful to have to go over the hill for parts.
