ok heres what i got
power at switch both sides as should be
no power at the brake light socket
new turn indicator switch
i need a wiring diagrm for the brake lights if you have a haynes manual and a scanner please scan it for me i lost my manual and i know when i buy another ill find it
If it's good, I'd say you have a break in the wiring leading to the socket, or bad grounding. Sometimes doing things like replacing a switch can add resistance [from fresh material being used] to the circuit and accentuate a bad ground.
I can't provide you with any scans of a wiring diagram, but if you're talking about a 1988 pick up [which I'm guessing only because of your username- it would help us help you if you post the actual year and model], I can tell you that there will be one primary harness running to the tail lights and it will split from there for brakes/license plate/trailer wiring. I'd advise tracing the wiring from back to front and looking for any breaks or cracks in the insulation; and checking ground points, which should be around the rear of the truck.
turns out now they work but when i push harder than resting my foot they die again
i can hold light pressure and it stays on a while but when i put force on it they go out
