NEED HELP TECHS...if you can
Hey guys,
I just plugged in my new SCT and read the flash I have had on my truck for quite a few years now......which has been great to me might I add. The flash serial numbers I read on my SCT screen are:
VXBC9NB
TQBEONM
Does anyone have any idea how old this flash is and if it was even a good one. Like I said, my truck has run flawlessly for several years and never gave me issues (especially after I did the EGR cooler delete)
I am in contact with Matt from GEARHEAD and he advised me to read what I had first then call him....I am thinking this flash is atleast 5+ years old.

Don't call me a tech, whatever you do, but I think VXBC9 is the most recent for an '04. The last two characters don't matter in this instance.

These codes make no sense to me.
I had my truck for 3 years with VXCF5 flash. Ran great. Talked with Matt about new tunes and he said to get the latest flash. VXCF9.
So off to dealer I go and ask for the most up to date flash. Well the tech hooks everything up and the computor picks the flash for your vehicle.
I get home to check and its now VXCF4??? No idea how it can go back in flashes. But Matt said if thats what Ford's sys picked for my truck than that is it. I also went back twice for the dealer to redue the flash. Still no change.
So I had Matt make tunes for what I have.
If you have VCXF9 then leave it alone and let Matt make tunes for ya.
