My truck has been hesitating off and on since I got it a few weeks ago but today it would hardly run 20mph. If it was a gasser I would swear the ignition was going on and off every half sec. I did manage to get it above 30 to try the cruise and eliminate the throttle pedal but that didnt change anything. It just did the same and the cruise light even blinked at me LOL I wish it would shoot a code at me but it hasnt yet. My thoughts are maybe CPS. I just changed fuel filter when I got it and could do it again but dont think thats it because it comes and goes and its too extreme of a jerk to be water in fuel. It literally bucks like a horse...Go for half sec/off for half sec. It doesnt cut off completely but if u are at anywhere but idle it does it. If I go back and try again now, it may run perfect the rest of the day. Hook a brother up!!!
If your overdrive light was blinking you should have some codes stored in the pcm. What are you using to read codes? Generic obd2 code readers don't work on these trucks.
Did this just start since you bought the truck a few weeks ago, or was it that way when purchased? Tell us more about the truck. Any mods? Here's a link to check for open recalls on your truck. If it has the original CPS, it's free from Ford, then get another from Riffraff for a spare. Good luck.
I thought I noticed a slight stumble driving it home when I bought it but very faint if any. It has gotten worse the last week or so. Funny thing is, I pulled a boat about 100 miles the last time I drove it and it was perfect the whole time. Then this morning, I could hardly get it up to 30 to make the cruise come on to check and see if it was the pedal TPS. No mods on truck at all and I have a CPS coming from Ford in a few minutes. I have a wholesale acct with them so I thought I would throw one at it since my '95 I had before this one died from a CPS
Thanks, thats what I was looking for on the ohm readings. I assume just unplug the harness at VC and check from there through VCG to injectors? The only thing is, I have never gotten a SES light (Service Engine Soon)
