05 headlight grille conversion

ah yes. got my stuff, got a little dusty doing it, but its in and Im real happy. I had to trim the header panel for the lights and bottom of grille to clear bumper. A simple air powered wiz wheel did an awesome job. took about 2 hrs with making sure, double and triple checking everything. but it was an easy mod. And by far the best $250 this truck has seen.

looks great man! I love that rootbeer paint color(sorry dont know the name of it). I would love to see an excursion where they painted the tan cladding that same color with the truck. That is just beautiful! Oh! Good job on the headlamps and grille too! ha!

i just did the swap on my 2000. i opted to spend some money and get a pre cut grille.. couldnt be happier here is the company i used Chrome Ford Super Duty/Excursion Grille Conversion they actually cnc cut it .. the grille is 100%mint looks great easy install.. as far as the headlights i got the stock brand new 05 headlights.. trimming was really easy like butter with a body saw.. and i optd to go with 6 HIDs so i honestly didnt need a new 9008 plug.. just power ground with some quick connectors for removal

let see. 1st, thanks for all the comps guys
The lights and grille are aftermarket from ebay. The emblem is oem from ebay too. I was nervous but couldnt be happier, the stuff is real nice.
And, kudos to the guy who posted the grille cut instructions. thats what gave me courage to do it. I didnt go nuts with the taping though. one pass with the electric tape then marked a line with a sharpie, took the tape off and had at it with the wiz wheel.
The guides on the bumper were on there when i bought the truck. they have turns sigs on the tips too. not crazy about them, they might come off in the future. but for now they help in the parking lots.
The paint... I was so close to painting the cladding brown but decided not to after wondering how the plastic steps and bumper covers would hold up. I kind of like it now anyway. My next cosmetic thing is the carpet. Im ripping out the dirty tan and getting a brown carpet. i think it should be nice with the tan leather.

They are definitely different from OEM, if you look closely it apperas they have small LEDs in the middle between the lights and a VERY aggressive curve on the inside. Too bad they dont show these '99-04' lights with a 99-04 grille

But, they must be heavy.. $62 for shipping??
Never understand why sellers don't just list the items for what they want, and add normal shipping. To me, it seems like they're trying to slip one by you with a low initial price.
