My SD came with four auxilliary switches... I'm not going to be hooking a plow up to the truck, but want to put the switches to use. I have a Tom Tom and thinking of wiring it into one of them to eliminate the wire hanging down the front of the dash (provided this can be done without messing up the traffic module... still researching), but will still have three more to play with...
Last truck. 1&2 turned on the moose light relays. 3 turned on the reverse flood lights on my canopy. 4 activated my high idle. New truck will be similar in configuration once I confirm high idle. Look in your manual, they vary in amperage.
I wired my backup camera to #4....that way if I need to pull forward a bit and start backing up again I don't need to wait for the camera to come back on.
I don't have anything on mine yet but I plan on putting a backrack with a strobe mounted for plowing and this will be on one of the switches, if not hidden strobes in the tails and just retaining my magnetic mount. I might also put running lights on my sander (if I use it on this truck) so I can see backing up with it.
#1 is my hideaway strobes. #2 is my flood lights on my back rack and #3 is the power to my light bar, 4 is still blank but im working on something for it.
I've plans for an air compressor with a large tank, lights underneath the bedrails, and a 1500+ Watt pure sine inverter (run through a solenoid of course).
