Yeh I wanted to a compression test just to check the condition of engine. That truck was in an accident so the only thing I got left is trans and motor. I sold the rest of the good parts. That engine could be going in another truck. So it will go on a stand, change some parts and into that truck. Is there a wiring harness just for the glow plugs? Or do I have to replace the injector and Glow plug harness?
Thanks
The injector and glow plug harness are combined into one unit under the valve cover.
But you should see that already, you have the valve cover off.
The bad glow plug is discolored because it had all that combustion heat blowing up through it.
You are very fortunate for the fact that the tip didn't break off and get knocked around inside the combustion chamber.
It would have damaged the piston crown pretty badly.

Okay thanks Dan. Is that why there was a lot of carbon build up on the body of the glow plug ?. I had to use some brake clean to work it out.
