E4OD solenoid pack stud broke

My kid was just changing the filter and fluid on his 93 F250 and noticed several loose nuts and screws on the valve body. While he was tightening them the stud on the rear of the solenoid pack snapped off flush. Are those things pressed in or screwed? Do you think it will be ok running without that nut on? I was looking at another one I have on my workbench and that stud appears to bee pressed into the transmission case. I tried to take it off with a stud remover and i wasn't moving.

They are screwed in, I would think that it would be ok to run it without that one stud and nut. I have seen worse work just fine, but if you can replace it that would be the best solution.

Over torquing can really give you problems when the valve body warps. With the E4OD, you're headed for problems if over torquing the valve body.

He was using my torque wrench on them. I forgot the settings but there were two different ones. The highest was only 100 inch pounds I think. That stud must have already been weak. It seems to be running fine but next weekend, AFTER he cleans up the mess he made in my garage I'm going to replace the stud for him. I already got another one.

Where did you get the stud? I broke the one on the rear left main body?
