Question "Check egine soon"

I had a dual exhaust installed and I didn't like the sound of it, so I had my cat replaced with a single cat (hollow). My manifold exhaust was leaking so I replaced it with SS Gibson headers. Shortly after the headers were installed I have been getting "service engine soon" light. These mods are making the light go off. If I bought a programer or had dyno work done on my truck would this problem go away Do I have to worry about getting it inspected in November, or because its a Super Duty truck they don't check your emissions?

Not sure bout there BUT here if the sticker weight is over 8200# and you have weighted or commercial tags your exempt from the emissions test

My factory weight was rated for 9,999 lbs so it was registered for 10,000lbs. The truck has commercial plates. Last year I increased it to 11,000lbs because I had added an extra leaf that gave me a bigger payload. So I think I am exempt. On the other hand I would like my computer to stop lighting up "service engine soon". I don't want to disconnect it, just in case there is a problem. I want the computer to alert me. Would a programer take care of this?

this is a question that may be better asked in the V10 engine forum.
also, if you are in Lynn Massachusetts , i think you will have to get inspected no matter the weight. if i remember correctly, the only exemption Massachusetts offers is for heavy diesels.

You are right, the truck goes through inspection , but I think they don't do an emissions test. Thanks TJC Transport, I will post it in the V10 forum.

What i meant was my 01 2500HD on the Vin tag on the door frame is marked at like 9500# and its weighted to haul 16000# thats combination now the truck and trailor together weigh like 10100 so i cant hual 5900 on the trailor BUT since its got weighted tags and the VIN tag says 9500 i dont go on the computer the Service engine lights been on since the day ive had it
