Has anyone got a flatbed on there single wheeled truck?
I have a crewcab with a shortbox.
Ive seen some pretty nice 8' decks/beds online.
Wondering what it would look like?
My paints falling off my box and its got a few dents and dings.
Im thinking putting a nice bed on it would be cheaper and more useful that a box anyway.
Bunch installed on 250 & 350. srw's running around here - my 250 srw's bed has the fenderwell "rustrot" and I've ordered a flatbed for it. Getting mine from a local mfg/fabricator that makes flatbeds. All aluminum w/stake pockets and a integral headache rack - very nice looking. We have one installed on another 250 reg cab that we got late last year. I can get a photo of it but how do you add photos to a post?

How much down there?
$3200 here. Ive seen a few nice ones on the net.
My box should be worth $500 bucks i figure. Its got a new tailgate on it.
I picked up a CM trailer RD model flatbed for $2300 cash and carry. Mounted it up tonight will be wiring it with some help this weekend. I would post pictures but I'm currently posting from my phone.
Without any body on it so you can see what there is to work with.
Crossmembers I built out of 2x4 rectangular steel that I capped the ends on so they wouldn't get salt inside them. They are held to the body by 5/8" grade 8 bolts.
Lifting the body on using the service truck. Actually you can see my father's silhouette under the body as he's cutting the mudflap brackets off the body for clearance so the body will sit down properly but you get the idea.
And some pictures of it installed. Another time I'd use a smaller rear most crossmember to tighten up the gap between the body and cab. My issue there was the drop down in the rear was hitting on my crossmember before the gap was as tight as I really wanted it to be.
I don't recommend this project for someone who is afraid of cutting, welding, etc.
Thanks very much. If you go that route feel free to PM me any questions you come up with. If you'd like any other pictures from any other angles or anything let me know.
