Recommended upgrades?

Have a 2003 f350.
Hpop is shot and am going to change it myself.
also plan on doing egr delete and clean the turbo.
Thinking of possibly changing head gaskets and putting in arp headstuds.
any other recommended upgrades i should think of?
am planning on mabey a 100hp chip if all goes well
If someone can let me know all the gaskets and o rings i need that would be great.
Hope to get all new stuff for preventative maintenance.
Might even get the heads checked and shaved if unlevel
Might even cut out the cat( can do it legally)

Start with this for your HPOP: http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=918

Stock airfilter = Great--no reason to change to anything else

Stock Headgaskets NOT black onyx/victor reinz

SCT tuner with custom tunes

3.5" downpipe to 4" exhaust

Check ICP sensor and IPR valve

with the down pipe will that fit to the stock system or is it better to put on a 4" system? I like quieter trucks

The 3.5" downpipe is an easier fit and doesn't lag as bad as the 4" pipe. If you're going to run a tuner then you need a more free flowing exhaust than stock but that doesn't mean it can't be quiet also. The 03 turbo has a pretty insane whistle without the stock resonator.

One thing I totally forgot to mention is gauges. The stock indash gauges are basically junk, especially on an 03/04. We don't even have a boost gauge. I would recommend fuel pressure and EGT's neither of which are read through the OBDII port and something similar to a Scan Gauge which will give you more than basic temperatures.

Can I ask how many miles you have on your 03? Just wondering cuz I have an 03 and hpop is the only thing I'm worried about having problems with. Thanks

Check the oil cooler before you tear down.

You may need intake gaskets as well.

I did the turbo drain tube upgrade and needed the top turbo oil inlet gasket as well.

Good Luck

You might want to give your fuel system "the little BLUE spring" will keep the pressure UP.

Ford Part Number: 3C3Z-9T517-AG

Also Do a fuel pressure regulator kit, go ahead and do a oil cooler and thermostat. (to be on the safe side) Intake gasket set, turbo mounting kit. Change oil and fuel filters. (17qts if ya do oil cooler)

Egr delete kit, definitely. 4" magnaflow with muffler, sounds great but not to too loud. Arp head studs with stock gaskets. Flush coolant and put fresh in.

Other than that cleaning turbo great idea! Let's us know how it goes or ask more ??'s

Where would a person get the fuel pressure regulator? What pressure and volume?
What has to be done to oil cooler? get new or clean?
Had just changed oil, fuel filters and replaced a heater core and did a flush. but will really have her clean now.
Parts are still being ordered and some wont be in till end of month so no wrenchin till middle of april probably

I'm not sure on the price but I'm wanting to say it's around $900. Partsguyed.com is a great place to order parts from and is an OEM dealer.

I've seen/heard numerous initial failures with them from several forums and the quality does not seem "as good" as the stockers therefore I won't recommend them to anyone, especially when there are lots of very high horsepower trucks running with stock gaskets and no failures.
