I have been looking, for some time, for a good, inexpensive, digital OBD-1 code scanner. Today, I found one at: Equus Ford OBD-I Code Reader for $9.95 plus shipping.
>> I need to make a correction. The scanner that is on sale at $9.95 only displays codes with a beeper or flashing light.
>> The digital display model is the one that regularly sells for $35.00 or so is on sale for $24.99.
My guess is that the seller is closing out its inventory.
My apology for the error.
If you have a 1995 or earlier Ranger, this could be a good deal for you. I just ordered mine.

Reason: Correction to information.
I was going to look around here to get info on code readers. Check engine light on ranger comes on sometimes. Want to look into that.
Ordered one, will give it a shot.
Humm, interesting, but if you look under cars /trucks covered it does not list my 94 2.3 ranger. it lists 2.3 up to 95 in cars, but not trucks.. i wonder if it matters?
My apology. You are correct, the labeling information on the package excludes the 1995 Ranger. I don't know why - Ford may have been transitioning to OBD-II during that model year.
