engine control module

I have a 1983 F150 XL with a 302 Carborated engine, According to a Hannes manual there should be an engine control module somewhere in it, but I cant find it, the wiring diagram also shows the Ignition Module which is very easy to find. Is the ECM under the dash or do I even have one at all. also I do have a vacume line going to the advance on the distributor if that helps at all.

I hate Hannes books I hate them so much.

With a carbed 302, and DS2 ignition, it is doubtful there is any kind of ECU/ECM in the truck. Just for clarity, are there a lot of wires going to the carb? If not, then an ECU isn't needed.
Ignition module on the fender, got a blue plastic grommit where the wires come out? If so, more reason to doubt an ECU would be present.
