Well guys, I just bought a 2010 F150 5.4L Xlt SCREW and Im looking to put some exhuast on it. I've had fords and chevys with both flowmaster and magnaflow systems on them in the past. I was considering getting one of those kits but they have really gone up in price since the last time I bought one. So anyhow, I was browsing around on ebay and found this company called race parts direct. They sell all kinds of kits for trucks, cars, etc.. This is the one I was looking at for my truck. Ford F150 Dual exhaust Flowmaster Super 44 Mandrel tips - eBay (item 290509867850 end time Apr-06-11 14:38:19 PDT)
My only concern is going to be the fitment. Its mandrel bend with the Super 44. Im just worried that the clamp/hanger setup that they provide is going to be sub par of a flowmaster/magnaflow kit which is going to utilize all the factory hangers(on the passenger side at least). And I also know that is part of the reason that thiose kits cost so much.
Let me know what you guys think. Would you put this on your 2010 pickup.
Any and all advice is appreciated.
Don't know where you live, but if it is in the snow belt the kit you referenced comes with aluminized steel tubing, and not stainless steel. I had a '98 F-150 and I went with a setup like that only to have it rust through in no time (a little over one year), and I live in Arizona. The factory exhausts are not as restrictive as with earlier years...maybe look into swapping out the muffler and putting a tip on to improve the sound and appearance and save some cash?
Wouldn't waste my time or money, especially with a flopmaster (not mispelled). As mentioned before, the stock system is not restrictive in the least so you won't gain anything other than hearing loss from the drone.
