Bill, thanks for all that infomation. I ordered the cd (truck '48-'56) yesterday.
Back in the mid-70's I went to a Ford Obsolete in Long Beach (I think) California.
Is it still there? Did not find it in a google search. Bought lots of parts for my F1 there.
Thanks again, Brian

Ah yes, the good old days.

Gene & Joe Mac's Ford Parts Obsolete in Long Beach (AFAIK, the world's first Ford obsolete store, established in the late 1940's) closed circa 20 years ago.

Originally located across the street from the old Goodyear tire plant, then moved to a former supermarket on Willow Street just north of the 110 freeway.

You could see the red Model T coupe they had mounted to their sign from the freeway. When they closed, it was bought by Kenny Tucker (now deceased) and added to his collection of Ford Cars/Trucks and memorabilia.

Gene and Joe Mac were originally partsmen at City Ford on Broadway, north of Chinatown in LA. This dealership later moved to Commerce, then to downtown LA, the name was changed both times. Now closed.

The only Ford obsolete parts store that I'm aware of in LA LA Land is Early Ford Store (earlyfordstore.com) in San Dimas. Some of their parts inventory was originally part of Valley Obsolete.

When Valley sold out, Harold Looney bought the parts, then they were placed in his Ford obsolete store (Vintage Ford) in Stanton and later Huntington Beach.

When Vintage Ford closed, Looney's former partsguy bought it all, moved the whole tamale to San Dimas....into the original 1916 Ford dealership building.
