My ignition works fine...but when I take the key out it still freakin' chimes. I joggle the ignition a little...and it stops. I've already disabled the part of the chime that you can disable using the ford 'finger in your nose' procedure. This is something wrong with the inards.......
It would be nice to know what you are trying to do and year/model of the vehicle you are trying to do it on........
Sorry guys.
Trying to accomplish -> Get rid of the ding ding ding noise....make it stop!
Truck -> 2005 6.0L Crew Cab 2wd
My understanding is that when you remove the key, assuming you have the lights turned off etc, and you open the door you are not supposed to hear the ding ding ding....on my truck you do hear it. To make it stop I have to jiggle the ignition.
I have an 03. I removed the cover under the ignition switch. There is a single black wire that goes to the switch housing, it is not in a bundle, that I cut. I saw a posting on that procedure, but I can't find it. Might be in one of the other blogs. That elliminated the key chime with the door open. Hope I helped

I'll open it up this weekend and if I see that wire it's getting snip'd. Thanks dude.

Any ideas? A wire I can cut?.......
Mine does the same thing occasionally. I would try to lube the cylinder before cutting the wires. Maybe something sticking.
