I have a 1976 F150 shortbox stepside that has a 390 4 speed. I was wondering if anyone has ever converted an 4 speed to an automatic c6. I have most of my bases covered however there are a few things I dont know:
1. Does the transfercase shifter work from the manual to auto?
2. Does the automatic use the same crossmember and location?
I am having trouble finding all the pieces to accomplish this, so I am trying to round up pieces from diffrent locations to complete it. The biggest is because of the FE parts. There are a lot more of 77 newer with 400 /351m
If I can find all the parts I have a 428 to swap into it. Might be a waste of a 428??? If not I might change it all over to a 429/460 with newer c6??
guys, I'm in eastern SD, and have or have access to quite a few parts.
I'd love to trade something for the 428 if you don't use it, or would buy it outright.
