I was under the hood yesterday checking things out and noticed that my MAP sensor was "wet". I am thinking it is oil coming up from the manifold? I was in the process of ohming out my injectors when I noticed it. Lately my truck just hasn't felt like it was running right. Could this be a symptom? How do I remedy this?
Just pulled the connector, it is wet on the outside. Looks like it might be coming from the oil fill cap. I pulled the cap off while it was running and smoke was coming out steadily. Is that normal?
Steady smoke is normal. Flip the cap upside down and rest it on the fill neck. If it shoots up in the air, you've got a problem. If it just vibrates around and slides off, everything is normal.
Sounds like your problem is CCV related. If I were you I'd check and snug up (not too tight) the hose clamps on the (6) rubber boots on the CAC plubming. Those are the big silver tubes under the hood. There's one on each end of each silver tube, and two under the X shaped thing the tubes connect to that are orange. Odds are the clamps on the passenger side orange boot below the MAP sensor (you might have to wipe the sludge off to see the color) is really loose.
I did try resting the cap upside down, it just vibrated around. I will be deleting my EBPV this weekend so I will know for sure if they are loose when I go to remove everything to change out my pedestal. Thanks Chris for the input.
