I am workin on a project truck [82 f150 custom] and recently replaced all the weatherstripping for both doors and windows. However, I am having alignment issues with the doors themselves. I replaced the strikers and moved them in as far as i could and on the passenger side the door sticks out about 1/4 inch. Drivers side is better but have some daylight coming in at the center top of door frame where it meets weather strip.
Hinge pins seem ok....I have no idea if the trucks ever been wrecked but it seems everything is either bent or tweaked slightly.
Upon closer inspection it looks like the gap between the cab roof and the top of the door widens in the center of the door/roof. Kind of like the cap is raised slightly in that area...makes me wonder if the cab roof is tweaked from a wreck. UGH!
Wonder if I can hammer it back in alignment or maybe put some supplemental weather sripping in there. Thought about trying to find a way to lower the main weatherstrip from the cab seam to bring it closer to the door frame.
