E4OD Question

Does the E4OD have a temp sensor? My transmission will not shift until the engine warms up, sometimes it takes up to five minutes of driving before I can get it to shift out of 1st. Once warm shifts fine.

The E4OD does have a temp sensor. The PCM also looks at engine temp, among a lot of other things.

I don't think the temp sensor is your problem. I'd be looking at internal leaks, such as worn seals, etc.

In January I spent $1995 for a complete overhaul to fix the problem and needless to say nothing got better. They took it apart a second time and replace the case and still no shiftee when cold. I looked at the odometer today and it only has 53,000 miles on it. I bought it new but only use it hauling things to the dump or getting fire wood. It really has never been worked very hard. Very frustrating.

Keep taking it back to the trans shop until they get it right. You already paid good money to have this thing rebuilt. Sounds like the trans tech doesn't know whats up.
