I have a 94 Ford Ranger with a 4.0 v6 that we sold the transmisson for it then got a Bronco 11 1987 with a 2.9 auto the trans is shot so i have a manual trans from a bronco 11 87and the Computer and all that but?? But will the 87 manual transmisson Work with the 94 4.0 v6 and the computer work with the old trans if so what all would you have to do for it to work ??
and what all has to come with it ? Like should i do all of the wireing from the 4.0 and all it's stuff or what ? Please help?
The 4.0 will bolt right up to the 2.9 trans. You will just need to figure out what wires goto the neutral safty switch and the reverse lights. I'd use the 4.0 and the 4.0 harness and computer.
B-BII The trans is different. It will not bolt up. The swap to a 302 will only add 150-200lbs. So I dont think there is a weight issue there. You can get a little more top end in a 2.9 by adding roller rockers from a chevy but you will have to have the heads driled and tapped for studs. On the other hand the 4.0 motor rocks over the 2.9 and is almost the same motor so very little mods are needed in the swap. If your interested in doing one I can steer ya in the right directon on that.
Well i have heared alot about the trans. But i have heard more that it will ? So if i ues the 4.0 all the wireing and neutral safty switch and the reverse lights too? But all of the wire's like the radio and light's will they just pulgin? or rewireing have to be done?
