well I changed the filter and the distributor cap and rotor, and it runs fine now. There is a air bubble in the top of the clear filter that doesn't fluctuate now.
Idle still doesn't want to stay in one spot though as it moves around about 500rpm up or down.
Does your truck use a throttle cable or a solid rod. I had to adjust the rod on my 63 because it would sometimes pull the throttle open a little as the engine moved around which is normal. I had to lengthen mine a little.
will do. i'm taking the carb in on wednesday and should have it back by friday from what the guy told me. Once I get it back i'll put it back on and mess around with it.
well after taking it to the shop, the results were not much was needed to be done. The guy said he cleaned everything out and adjusted the floats. I put the carb back on and what do ya know, it takes off better, puts you back in the seat a little more when you punch it a bit, and revs faster when all four are opened up.
