o/d button blows fuse?

o/d button blows fuse?
My friend at work has a 01 cc f250 completly stock. When he turns the o/d off it blows the fuse to all the gauges it doesn't kill the motor but he has no acceleration. All it will do is idle until he changes the fuse.
Has anybody had this problem before??? I'm trying to help him out before he takes it to the stealership

Had the same problem, as far as the number #45 10 amp fuse blowing, loosing all gauge funtions and just the idle, no exceleration. From everybody's help here it led to a chafed wire under the top steering cover. Ken's explaination and fix will help your friend.

Ok. I'm gonna look at it tonight when I get home from work and talk to him or print it out for him. He working here in mobile and is from n.o. He don't have a computer so I can't give him the website.
