I have searched this but have not found an answer First I have an 06 Scab 5.4 4X4. I am thinking about putting in an efan(Imagine that that is what the title says ) Anyways looks like most use a dual fan setup. I was thinking about using a 2 speed fan an retain the factory shroud. Any gains or losses to this setup? I know only one fan no back up etc. What kind of fuel efficiency gains has everyone seen from swapping to an efan? I was also thinking of underdrive pulleys any gains there? truck is completely stock just wanting to make it a bit less thirsty. I have yet to check mileage, but will here with in the next couple tanks. I would consider an exhaust but I'm getting old and don't like loud anymore!
Some claim there are 1 or 2 mpg to be had. Also the set-up will be quieter. It can't be bad...almost every vehicle made these days has an electric fan. I've been following a couple different threads about this and I'm probably going to use the new 2010 F-150 e-fan.
Troyer has a good e-fan setup for the '04-'08's that I am considering when fiscally able. I haven't checked out the 2010 set up though. Troyer also has the underdrive ppulley set for them.
II have a dual fan setup, im getting about 2 mpg more, the air conditioner seems to blow a little colder, there's way more room under the hood without the fan shroud which is good for changing oil filter.
