mine has the crome and argent inserst and i'm gonna leave them that way... i've seen them painted to match the trucks paint and i've seen the surround painted too... i like them they way mine are or argent area painted vehical color but in the grille only...

Never thought of doing it body color. A lot of guys with the Titan do it and I think it looks weird. It needs to be a different color just to break things up a bit.
Rustoleum also makes an "aluminum" color paint in their Bright Coat series spray paints. Could be another option for you.

I've never really been a big fan of the argent insert. Not even sure why, but I like the black insert better. The 78-79's just look better to me with that pissed off wide mouth bass look, and the black brings it out better. Now, on that same subject, my truck is also black, but other than that, I don't really care for the insert matching the paint scheme either (black trucks notwithstanding). I know, that makes me seem hypocritical, but even if my truck were any other color, the insert would still be black.

the factory offered the Argent color, as well as black. i also think there was a chrome trim option as well with the Argent.
This is just a thought. But, instead of taking the time to sand, prime, mask, andall. Why not just buy it new from your local auto body parts supplier? brand new repo's go for about 35. each!
