I was going out this afternoon and when I was going to get in the truck as I was walking up to the truck I seen the dreaded black spot under the front of the truck. Most of us have seen this before and know what it is, a dad-gum oil leak some where and I hate a oil leak. It was just a drop so I went on and finished my errands and when I made it back home I crawled under and seen the evidence of a lite oil leak running down the passengers side front of the tranny by the starter. So I popped the hood and looked down in the valley behind the HPOP and fuel bowl and all was dry this is good but looked on back in the valley and yes I found the oil puddle in the very back. I hate a oil leak, it looks like it coming from the HPX fitting and running down to the valley or possibly the turbo pedestal.
I guess I will tighten up a couple fittings and bolts first and use a little simple green to wash it out and go from there. Man I hate a oil leak It has been a little over 2 years since I have had a leak so I guess it was my turn again, maybe I will be lucky and just the little tighten will fix it

Reason: I dont know why I have a double post
I hope its a simple fix also. My truck started to this drip infection too. I need to pull the turbo anyway to do my fuel system. Might as well do it now.
I have the rubber hose version of the hpx and started to leak. Looks like the hose itself is bad. The heat resistant material was soaked in oil internally. I had little bubbles at the end so I guess it was leaking there. If you have the hard version probably just some o rings.
I hate that feeling, just puts me in a bad mood until it is fixed. I'm chasing two at the moment on my Excursion. One on the passenger side (just like yours) and the other is on the drivers side down by the power steering/oil cooler area.

Rich I hate that feeling also as I said I hate an oil leak. Well I had time this evening to investigate so I started RED and was warming it up a little to help the Simple Green remove any oil. I drug the water hose out to clean the valley but first I thought I would look around again in the sun light. And yes I spotted the leak in just a minute right where I was hoping it was. The HPX passengers side JIC fitting it was not loose the oring was showing up around the fitting and It would not tighten any more. Oil was running down the bottom of the plug and down the VC until it got to the lift ring and oil went down to the valley. Best part was I called Clay to get the oring # or size and he said heck I will send you a replacement for that and it will be there in a day or 2. CUSTOMER SERVICE#1
Grant yes its the hard line and you are correct o-ring.
YUP! I got the dreaded drips too. Just had the hp hose on the Power steering replaced.
‘It was like this,’ said Donald. ‘I was teaching the wife to drive, and the brakes failed when we came down the hill.’
‘What did you tell her?’
‘Try and hit something cheap!’
i had a small leak after pulling the camper two weeks ago. im guessing and little more oil pressure while pulling caused it to seep from somewhere. hasnt dropped and drip since ive been back from that trip so i havent found the cause yet
