I know exactly what you mean. My daily driver is a pretty nice '96 F250 4X4 with a Powerstroke and ZF5 speed that I've thought about yanking the body off of and using my '53 COE body on. Luckily I've collected enough parts to build the COE without stripping my driver.

What about an Econoline van frame with either a 302 or 351/c6 in it already? I've heard only a little on these frames online, but my local junkyard has a lot of these vans sitting around, so it got me to thinking. I owned an 81 e-350 and that thing was a BEAST. I want to make a truck out of my COE, but still be able to haul mild to moderate loads.

here is my 84 Che** P-20 step van Temporary parts storage/future donor chassis for a 52 COE (hopefully quad cab) with 6.5' box on it. this one has a 6.2l diesel in it that runs great but not sure thats what I want in the COE?? maybe a 5.9 Cummins would work.... can't complain for $500 price tag though.

this is kind of the inspiration truck only picture it with shorter box and the quad cab. 125" wheel base +- 2"

and my crappy sketch!!!

That red one is exactly what I want to do. The proportions are damn near perfect for my taste. The bed is long, but not too long like some of them.
