Hey Everyone, I have to change out the 292 y block in my 63 f600 and. have a 400 out of my 79 f350 with a t18 ,,beside the different engine mounts and tranny cross member will i be able to bolt the t98 up to my 79 bell housing to keep the trans brake on the truck? the 292 threw a rod out the side of block going about 50 down the hiway,, really blew my day , but want to put the 400 in it out of my 79 f350 then scrap rest of 79 ,Or is there a better engine that would work,, I already have the 400 and it runs good rest of truck is rough, but it runs good Thanks Randy
ok guys another question, i found a 330ft and tranny out of a 73 f600 with a front mount and a bell housing mount set up ,will it bolt in place of my 292 ? or will i have to change cross members?
I'd go for the more moderen engine mayself. and I'd use the trans that is on it also. you can adapt a trans brake to to almost and trans that has a fixed yoke. Although you may need to make a bracket or something. I've seen a few fork lift disc brakes on a trans for a parking brake.
