79 Tbird as a donor for F1

So, I have a 79 tbird available for $300. The engine is a good running 351W, and the rest is a rusted hunk. That's what I'm told, anyway, I haven't seen it yet. The car is a 114" wheelbase, same as my '48 f1. The engine is for my car (87 tbird), and the 400 I have already has 79 tbird motor mounts on it. But is the frame a worthwhile swap project? Anyone look into this already? I believe the tbird is based on the torino platform.

Man, Scott, you're opening yourself up to a lot of heat. Truck to truck frame swaps get a lot of negative feedback on the forum, I just can't wait to see what a T-Bird to truck swap is going to generate.

I'm not sure on the frame swap but $300 seems like a great deal if you just used the 351w

Upon further thought, I've decided not to do the frame swap. However, you're right....$300 for a running 351W sounds like a deal. Last I talked to him, someone else was looking at the car as a father and son project. I told him to let them have it. I'll just overhaul the 351W I already have.
