hey all in my 92 bronco when i go parking lot speeds 5-10 there will be a clunking type of noise it happens whether i am on the gas or coasting and sometimes on the brake but mostly slightly on the gas or coasting it sounds fairly loud it sounds as if the drive shaft was broken off and spinning around and hitting metal(best representation i could think of) so any input would be great thanks
I'd put money on the idea that you have the front u-joints (yes plural) in the rear drive shaft failing and/or the centering ball and spring are dying. The slop may not even be enough to feel by trying to jog the drive shaft with your bare hands. But if there is even the slightest play in the double-cardon u-joint assembly, its time to replace it.
You can pull the rear DS and see if the noise goes away. There is no guarantee I 'm right but it sure sounds really familiar. I drove around in 4WD high for a couple days with the rear shaft removed while I replaced it. Kept me moving but I wouldn't recommend doing it for too long. the entire weight of the truck is being moved with the t-case chain.
alright when it stops raining i will go check my u joints and check if that is the cause of the clunking. also when i first start my truck and get going for the first say 10 -20 min. there is a squeak when i give it gas then after that 10-20 min it will either be a lot less or it will completely go away so any thought on that darn annoying squeak.
Squeak could mean a lot of things... constant squeal or repetitious short squeaks? Belt? Or my favorite... the PVC line running from the valve to the upper intake plenum has absorbed enough motor oil to collapse under vacuum and whistle at you. (Chased that one for about two weeks a while back).
Replace the valve AND the hose if that is the cause.

Could be a bad dry u-joint or the CV joint as mentioned before
alright cool thanks guys the belt is still fairly new i think somewheres around 5000 miles old i'm gonna check the u joints and just look at all the hoses and connections also take a look at some rubber bushings and things like that although it is still raining so i wont be able to get to that for a few days thanks for the input on this guys.
the noise seems to me that it is coming from the passenger rear although there could be an "echoing" type of thing that i am hearing but i am making a list of every opinion that i get to check on a head to toe check as the squeak and clunk are annoying the @#$% out of me lol thanks and keep the opinions coming.
yes it is an automatic. the squeak to me sounds as if it is coming from the back passenger side and the clunk sound seems to be coming from the back middle. hopefully this weekend it will stop raining and i can thoroughly go over everything and see if i can get any more info to you guys thanks for the help.
