Im new to this site and I have never seen a debate like this turn personal. FTE is known for being objective and helpful. This name calling and arguing will just turn away new members to the site.

My opinion, looking objectively, is that if there were changes made there should be notification sent to members and a new "terms of agreement" electronically sent. This way a person not for the changes could get out of it.

Also I believe that help should not be given based on what someone drives... I understand the concept behind RHN, but some well qualified SD and Diesel mechanics dont drive a SD or even a diesel, and by refusing their help, it is doing nothing but hurting the Network.

I dont think exclusion was the goal when the rules were set up... I dont take it personal that I am a newbie and underqualified to be a part of it, even though I could simply bring a part to a person.

I hope this comes to a civilized conclusion. Just keep in mind how potential site members might feel reading this and getting the impression that they will get flamed based on their "qualification."

Thanks for all everyone does. Just my 2 cents.
excellent post Mitch. When we "resurrected" the RHN we adopted some of the old rules. Yes some of them need to be reworked a bit and tweaked as well. One of the main reasons we did it that way was to protect the privacy of the members personal data.

Another point to ponder is the risk that I take with the RHN from a legal standpoint in the event that some one does something illegal with the info in there, A good lawyer will try to nail my hide to the wall.

I do not make a dime off the RHN nor is FTE a paying job for me. I work my tail off to pay the bills like all of you.

I will sponsor you to be added to the RHN if you want to Mitch
