Your buddys are most likely getting the check engine light from overboost which your superchips will do too. You will need some kind of boost fooler.

I have a SuperChip tuner (5 years). It will improve your mileage/power/shifts over stock. I have been very happy with it. I will look at the model tonight and let you know what it is tomorrow. No... it is not a DP Tuner.... but you can still fry your transmission with the SC (But my wife did let me get a BTS ) ( we took a lot of Looong trips, driving over 70mph and burned up the od)

There is not a single truck out there immune to "frying" a transmission, even with factory programming on the PCM.

To say that the Superchips programmer fried your transmission is pretty ...well....ignorant.

The Superchips 1705 is a great programmer with good power gains without getting too carried away in the firm-shift department like the Edge Evolution.

You can usually find used 1705 programmers for <$150 and they work really well.

Back off on the ignorant talk, I blame the SC for nothing, I blame my right foot. Can you not read sarcasum into the sentence?

The superchips will make your check engine light come on too. Your hpop can't keep up with the trucks tunes as compared to stock at excessive throttle, any tuner will do that. It won't hurt it. And normally it will only do it when your running the truck hard. The superchip will clear the light it as soon as you want to, but the light will go out after five to ten minutes of normal driving because the hpop's demands are being met.

Never had my cel come on.

I run the 1705 model. I have been very happy with it for over 5 years.

I can get 23-25 mpg in Hi Pro mode and 16-17 mpg in Pull mode.

I have hand calculated it many times, Diesel flowing out the neck. The truck purrs like a kitten. I put it in 'neutral' when I come to a stop sign to 'relax it' , as the BTS wants to 'take off'. I have also had a Camper shell on it for many years (streamline ) I have a 'light foot' as I get it up to cruising speed and try to always keep it under 2,000 rpms. A little above 70 mph the rpms are around 2,100. One of the reasons I bough the SC for for increased mpg and it did help.
