O/D OFF switch doesnt work

O/D OFF switch doesnt work

not sure if the fuse is blown or if the switch itself is bad. the only reason I really care is I dont want it shifting into OD at the track. is there a way to manually keep it out of OD with a broken switch? what fuse is it anyway?

I don't know , but every time you shut the truck off it goes back to OD , you need to press the button , the light should come on , then OD is off till you press the button or shut the truck off....Lew

Here is a schematic of the E4OD control circuit:

The Transmission Control Switch is the button on the end of the shifter lever.

I have seen more than a few times this wire get frayed in the column, it is often accompanied by fuse popping as well.

I took mine out of the column and put it on the dash , and removed the shifter , and put it on the floor where it belongs....Lew

I use the B&M pro stick , i like gate shifters , i had a mount made for it....

that doesnt sound like a bad idea. did you use the AOD kit? your running a 4r70w right? did you use a manual VB or a full manual shift kit?

Yeah im running a 4R70W with a B&M street /strip shift kit , still auto , had a comuter tune so i don't have the factory rev limiter , i can control the shifts manualy , or if i leave it in drive , the shift point is set at 5800 at WOT , if you do a shifter you will need the AOD kit....
