Wahoo! finally hit the elusive 20mpg

The old girl has been giving me mid-18's forever. I bumped the timing a tad and that got me into the low 19's. Added Lubromoly to the last oil change and a few thousand miles later I've gotten just a hair over 20 for the last 2 tanks. At $3.75/gal every 10th counts.

I'm in East Tennessee so the usual uphill, downhill, corner, corner, corner, repeat. Half my route is 40-50mph and half is 50-60mph.

89 F350 Reg Cab 2wd Dually N/A E40D 4:56 gears and stock tire size.

Congratulations! Looks like Lubromoly makes a number of products. Which one did you use?

you get mid 18's with 4.56 aftermarket gearing,no turbo,a dually and sometimes driving 60MPH?

have you confirmed the miles driven to what the odo shows somehow?

what other mods have you done to the engine/truck? what do you run for tires (brand and size please.)

how much time is spent one way, going your normal route? is this empty, with any load on etc.

do have an aftermarket torque converter or original stock?

how many miles on the truck, and whats the condition (age) of the fuel system?

4.56 gearing.this sounds like a good gear set to swap to,if you had a gear vendors overdrive unit w/ your E40D.do you have a GV for double over and just forgot to include that or?

ahh.so many questions.sorry.

You can have a suppressor in Oregon but I wouldn't move here, all of you Kaliphornyans have screwed us up big time and we don't need any more of you!

Actually all of that's true but I'd let you in, I'd recommend Idaho, Montana or Wyomong instead.
Don't go to Washington they are just as FUBARed as us and won't let you have suppressors or full-autos.

South Dakota is VERY gun friendly also. They actually send their Governor to the SHOT Show looking to get gun companies to move their operations there......THAT'S a good state right there. That is the way to up your econom,y...ENCOURAGE economic development instead of squashing it with regulations and taxes....DUUUHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO! NOt montana!! I want it to stay below a million people! Go to Wyoming, they got diesel prices at 3.50 a gallon in the oil fields and whatnot. They also only have bout 600k population....And yes montana you can have a supressor...just dont expect any good reviews about using one here. We can have full autos(so can wyoming). Kaliphornyans are not all that welcomed here in montana....we dont want to end up like Warshington, Oreygon or Idyho. Montanayans are good people though

Diesel is running $1.30/L which is like $4.90 a gallon up north... I guess we tolerate oil sands for ***k all.
No full autos here but hey, no smog laws! No E-testing or nothing. Too many trees to care about emissions I guess...
